The essential answer

Claude supports German as an interface language and can handle German-language tasks. Dependable team results also need clear terminology, formatting rules and review.

Distinguish display, conversation and output language

Anthropic documents German as a selectable language in web and desktop applications. Conversation language can be specified independently, and voice mode has its own setting. Explicitly stating the desired output language in the brief helps prevent language switching in multilingual documents.

Create a small terminology glossary

The glossary contains business terminology, allowed abbreviations and phrases that must not change. Customer communication also needs rules for address, tone and clarity. A good glossary stays short enough to maintain and points to approved domain sources for complex topics.

Check numbers and regional conventions

Specify dates, decimal separators, currency and units for the audience. Translation must not silently reinterpret numbers or units. For German and English output, test the same business information in both languages. Compare names, contractual terms and prices especially carefully.

Measure language quality on actual tasks

A test set combines an internal summary, a customer-facing draft and a difficult specialist text. Score factual accuracy, clarity and rework. A German interface says nothing about data location or contract terms. Our templates help structure the brief, and the system check assesses the team workflow.
