Claude in practice

Integrate the Claude API: from prototype to dependable workflow

We connect Claude to your application and develop data contracts, quality checks and failure paths for its specific use.

WERKVERSTAND / CONNECTING INTELLIGENCE

The essential answer

A Claude API integration involves more than a model call. Werkverstand plans inputs, outputs, access, budgets and handling of incomplete or refused responses.

From idea into operations

A clear next step.

You know what is being built, how it is checked and who takes over.

01

Understand

One task. A clear goal.

We establish the starting point, owners and intended output.

02

Assess

Ask the right questions first.

Data, permissions, quality and effort shape the right approach.

03

Connect

Components become a workflow.

We build, test and document the agreed process.

04

Operate

Make it dependable every day.

Your team takes over with approvals, fallback and clear ownership.

Define the business contract before the prompt

We specify allowed inputs, required outputs and decisions that remain outside the model. For document extraction, this contract includes required fields, source locations and unknown values. The model proposes a result; the application validates it before data reaches downstream systems.

Choose model access and infrastructure deliberately

API access is treated separately from personal chat subscriptions. We select an available model route and review its current interface. The application stores credentials server-side. Development, test and production use separate configurations so a test cannot change real business data.

Build failure, limit and retry behavior alongside the feature

Scope includes output validation, bounded retries and a visible fallback. If a model refuses, a source is missing or the budget is exhausted, the application must respond understandably. External writes receive duplicate protection. Tests cover these failures as well as the successful path.

Hand over test cases and cost ownership

You receive implementation, configuration, test cases and an operating record. A named owner reviews samples and model changes. The test set remains the baseline for new versions. The AI system check establishes whether a custom API connection is needed, considering existing tools as potentially simpler alternatives.
