Operating depth decides, not seat count alone
Use Claude Pro as the comparison point for individual use and bounded exploration. Assess Team and Enterprise by whether the planned shared operation requires additional role, identity, governance or audit capabilities. Current plan documentation remains authoritative.
Boundary: a personal account is not an operating model
Once several people share data, templates or approvals, document account ownership, offboarding, workspace administration, retention and the support path. Enterprise requirements must follow from risk and architecture, not status.
Pilot: workflow first, plan tier second
- Separate one individual and one jointly owned use case
- Record required roles, identity, retention and audit
- Test administration, offboarding and approval in practice
- Select the plan only after identifying function and governance gaps
Decision matrix
| Criterion | Claude Pro | Claude Team / Enterprise |
|---|---|---|
| Usage model | Individual work and bounded exploration | Shared workspace with named owners |
| Required check | Account ownership, permitted data and export path | Roles, identity, retention, audit and offboarding |
| Decision signal | Individual workflow without shared governance needs | Evidence of team or enterprise control requirements |
Keep it verifiable
